1 Timothy 6 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant (high minded) nor to put their hope in wealth (untrusted riches), which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
What things do people put their trust in, that’s not God?
Jeremiah 17 5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Have you ever been promised something and then the person backed out?
You will not have the blessing in your life by trusting things, or people, but by trusting God. The money in your bank account is not for you to feel secure. That’s not what you need to be trusting in. One way to prove this is by giving it away, or sowing it as a seed. That’s one sure way to show, (prove to yourself / test your faith) that you don’t trust in money, but you will give it out. That’s why people don’t tithe, or give, because they feel secure with their money, and they trust it, even if it means disobeying God.
Does tithing make sense in the natural realm?
Job 31 23 “For tragedy from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty and exaltation I can do nothing [nor endure facing Him]. 24 “If I have put my trust and confidence in gold, Or have declared fine gold my hope and assurance,
Job is examining himself, and recounting his integrity and emphasizing that gold (money) was not his confidence. You cannot exalt the creation above the creator.
Psalm 112 Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who fears the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence and worships Him with obedience], Who delights greatly in His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. 4 Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous (upright—in right standing with God). 5 It is well with the man who is gracious and lends; He conducts his affairs with justice. 6 He will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever. 7 He will not fear bad news; His heart is steadfast, trusting [confidently relying on and believing] in the Lord. 8 His heart is upheld, he will not fear While he looks [with satisfaction] on his adversaries. 9 He has given freely to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor. 10 The wicked will see it and be angered, He will gnash his teeth and melt away [in despair and death]; The desire of the wicked will perish and come to nothing.
When you trust God, your heart is FIXED, established because of TRUST. Because you have made your mind up that you’re going to believe in God, and Trust in God no matter what the circumstances are.
What has helped you to build trust in God in your life?
You go to church, bible study, prayer, because you value the Word. There are many people who do not value the Word. You value what the Word says. The preaching, and teaching of the Word is one of the most important jobs in the World.
Some people hate pastors or preachers because they are prospering, but they are simply practicing the very thing they are preaching. The world doesn’t value the Gospel or what it says so they criticize or come against it. We cannot be immersed in the world or hang out with worldly people who do not value what we value. You cannot be getting your information or advice from someone who does not value what you value. You cannot allow your mind to be warped by their thinking. This is all an attack on your trust.
A fixed heart that trusts God, is a heart that is focused in on God. Established in His Word. This requires daily stewardship of our eye gate, ear gate. When your mind is in that Word daily, you trust in God.
Sometimes you can slip into darkness and not even realize it. Its dark, and you can’t tell its dark, because you lose the light little by little, until you become in contact in someone who is in the light, before you realize how dark it was. Thank God we are in the light today.

How do you see the world relying in their own flesh to be successful in life?
Cursed is the opposite of blessing. To be empowered to fail. When we learn to trust in God, we are blessed. When we learn to trust in our way of doing things, or in the world’s way of doing things, you will be cursed. You have turned your heart and mind away from God. You will be empowered to fail. What may seem to be successful short-term, is really failure in the long run. When you make the decision to trust in God, you will learn that you can rest trusting God. When you lean, rely, trust in God, the evidence will be rest, and you will question yourself why you are not upset about it. You are now, not relying on your own ability. When God calls you to do things, it’s something beyond your capabilities, and you HAVE to trust in Him. Hard Times have an expiration date. They don’t last forever.
Psalms 125 1They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
You will constantly get situations where you will be attempted to be shaken. You are like Mount Zion. Have enough guts to just stay there, and not be moved in the storm. Many Times we have to be delivered from people. Once we get delivered from people, God will deliver you To people.
Has your trust in God ever been shaken?
