Sense Knowledge vs Word Knowledge

1 Tim 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

The battle of faith is with sense knowledge reasoning. Where does this battle in our Christian lives take place?

Fight the good fight means you will be fighting with sense knowledge (things that make sense to your senses, intelligence). That’s the battle you will always be involved in. It will be what the word of man says about a thing versus what the Word of God says about a thing. You will be looking at what the senses say and what the Word says. That’s been the battle since the beginning.

The real struggle is with sense knowledge, which is Faith’s worst enemy. Sense knowledge will never give the Word first place. It will respect or admire the Word but not obey it. Some say words of science have more authority than the Word of God.

In the fight of faith there is one offensive weapon you can actually use and it’s the Word. (Sword of the spirit)

There’s 2 types of truth. The truth that comes from the Word of God and the truth that comes from your senses (facts). There is nothing wrong with sense knowledge so long as it doesn’t contradict the Word of God. We walk by faith not by sight. In other words we walk by the truth in God’s word not the truth from our sensory mechanisms. We are used to walking in our senses. They assist us in operating in this physical world. You put your hand on a hot stove, you burn yourself, then you immediately take your hand off. You see a car coming you move out the way. The senses working in their right place have a level of truth, but they were never intended to lead and guide your entire life. For that we have the truth that comes from God’s word.

Proverbs 14:12 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

We are living in a society where very few people know the word of God. Not just worldly people or sinners, but Christians in the church. They depend more on their emotions that are ruled by sense knowledge rather than the Word of God which isn’t ruled by any senses.

For example: Symptoms that come on your body that show you are sick versus the Word of God that says you are healed. When you say you are healed you say it because the Word of God says so, not because you feel any better. Not because the symptoms changed.

Someone says?  “I believe God heard my prayer this time because I feel better.”

Is this a correct response to our prayer? Yes or No? Please explain

When you go based off of how you “feel” you’re now governing your life by sense knowledge. That is allowing your senses to add credibility to the truth of God’s Word. That just puts you in the same place as anyone else in the world. Being emotionally ruled. God’s Word says something but then your emotions take you somewhere else.

We believe it whether or not it shows up in the physical realm. We are not searching something to confirm the Word. We choose to believe it regardless.

Human nature loves physical evidence. We have been trained in it. As a Christian, the first thing you have to do is be honest with yourself. Are you more trained in walking in your sensory mechanisms, than being trained in walking by the Word of God?

If you’re not, you have been slowly seduced by your senses to believe them more than you do the Word. So many times we allow the situations around us to dictate to us where the authority is. Instead of releasing our authority we grow tolerance to the “inevitable situation” because we don’t really think we can change it.

While the bible is filled with Word authority, we just grow tolerance for the problem going on around us.

For example, a broken marriage. How is it fixed?

If those 2 people get in the Word together, and start agreeing, believing with the Word, regardless of how they feel and just stand on it, the Word works. It always works. It will produce. Many people are acting like sinners and allowing their sense knowledge to rule over the Word knowledge.

God has already done everything he’s going to do regarding the problem. What we need to do is grasp it and believe it. You take it, you possess it. It’s yours. Don’t reason with it, or doubt it. That’s what happened in the garden. Satan came in with his lies, and they started reasoning with Gods truth, and they lost what God had given them.

Please understand the battle is against reasoning’s governed by the adversary through the senses.

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

What are examples of the counsel of the ungodly?

Ungodly people are going to counsel based on emotions, not the Word. “Well I feel you should do this, or my suggestion would be this because it would make me feel this way.” It’s always going to be based on negative emotions. “Well that doesn’t make any sense.”

Blessed is the man who WILL NOT walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Do you have ungodly counsel? The bible says you will not be blessed.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. (AMP) And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].

If you spend time in the Word, you will be blessed and the Word will come to maturity. You stand on the Word, stay there, spend time with it, it will mature. If you don’t see it yet, rest assured, it’s maturing. There is seed in the ground you have not seen yet, but its maturing, just stay with it. It will come to pass.

Many people don’t like waiting for the Word to come to pass in their lives, why do you think that is?

The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

The chaff are like useless dead people of the world without substance. They don’t know what they’re doing. They think they do. They get moved by the circumstances and change (by their senses and feelings) with the wind.

John 17: 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

The Word we have been given will make the distinction between us and the world.

15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.

We have been given the Word in this world. So you are in this world with the Word. So long as you are in this world with the Word you are not of the world.

You got to ask yourself about the decisions you make. Do you make them according to the word, or with your senses, or to what makes sense?

Does the Word of God make sense to you all the time?

John 17: 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

When you look at us as Christians, to stay separated from the world, we have to base our life decisions on the Word. How you raise you children, how you handle you money, and every other area of your life.

You can preach to a natural minded man all day and he will never get it, because the things of God are spiritually discerned. Don’t be upset when sinners sin, that’s what they’re supposed to do. They’re basing their life on a whole other truth. We are sanctified by the truth that comes from Gods Word. Every man or woman that doesn’t, has no choice but to stand on the truth that comes from the senses.

Satan says, “If I can get them to focus on their senses, I can take everything in life and take it through their senses, until they begin to declare that their sense knowledge (facts) is more real than the truth of the Word of God.

The Word is more real than what you see. God’s Word is truth regardless of what you see or don’t see in your physical life.

Sense Knowledge = Facts

Word Knowledge = Truth

Facts will always bend to the truth. Facts are changeable. The truth is not. If you stay with the truth more than you stay with the fact, it will change the fact. Now you are healed, and let the doctor tell you the new fact. If he wants to know how to change facts, introduce him to the Word.

God’s word (TRUTH) is eternal, Facts are temporary. Facts in this world came from truth that’s out of this world. All physical things came from spiritual things. Whatever exists in this physical realm is subject to the spirit realm. God’s Word is spirit and truth. The eternal will change the temporary. There is nothing that you see that cannot be dominated by the truth of God’s Word. If you believe that and start exercising that, you will see that it’s not the devil that’s in control, but you.

God has already done all he has to do regarding your situation. What we need to do, is stop trying to handle the situation ourselves and receive the truth of God’s Word regarding the matter. The blessing will not work as long as we are working. We need to stop trying to do something that God has already done for us. Rest in the truth, and receive it and the blessing will begin to work and move in our lives.
